Peloton Milestone

While I generally use Instagram stories to showcase my Peloton accomplishments, tonight I’m doing a post because well, hell, this is major stuff that deserves a billboard in Times Square for many reasons. Let me count the ways:

1 – In a live 30-minute Pop Ride class today with 26,274 riders, instructor @codyrigsby gave me a shoutout that you can listen to below. My screenname is VinoFabulous and my leaderboard hashtag is #BGM for Black Girl Magic so this was really a shoutout to @bgmpelotonedition.

2 – This ride was particularly meaningful because it marked the return of Cody, who has been open about his battle with COVID-19. #WelcomeBackBoo. Listen to his words in the two video clips included in the original Instagram post.

3 – This was my 400th Peloton ride, another milestone!!!!

4 – The colorful bra I wore during the ride (scroll to see) was delivered to my mailbox just before class started and I couldn’t wait to wear it. It’s a “United We Move” bra designed by @monicaahanonu, one of four artists Peloton instructors partnered with during #BlackHistoryMonth to bring four unique apparel collaborations that tell Black stories. I bought several pieces to support my peeps!

5 – The ride marked the debut ride of a dear friend whose Peloton arrived today and whom I did a video chat with during part of the ride.

6 – During class, Whole Foods delivered an order. Because the order contained alcohol (surprise, surprise!!!), I had to show my ID to the delivery guy, which meant unclipping, taking off my shoes, going upstairs to get my driver’s license, coming back downstairs, showing my ID to the guy, taking my bags, which also contained sushi and Oysters Rockefeller, upstairs, putting the food and wine in the refrigerator, going back downstairs, putting on my shoes, clipping in and rejoining the class.

I had just clipped in and resumed pedaling when Cody said, “VinoFabulous looking good babe. Sprinkle a little Black Girl Magic on it for me. Yes!”

I screamed “He said my name!” It’s a moment every Peloton rider lives for — whether or not they admit it.

7 — I was on a cloud for the rest of the ride but couldn’t catch @msnicholestarr who was cycling to a PR. Congrats!
